Here at Studio 9, we aim to provide the community of Slaton and surrounding areas with year round dance, cheer, and tumble instruction. Through your registration fee and monthly tuition, you will reserve a spot in class for your child. We are so excited to be able to offer the kids of Slaton an outlet to learn skills of determination, responsibility, discipline and passion that they will surely utilize throughout life’s journey. 

I want to first, and most importantly, express my love for Jesus! Without my Lord and Savior, none of this would be possible.

Hello, my name is Bethanie Schaefer, Owner of Studio 9 Academy. I am a mother of 4 and wife to my precious husband, Harrison Schaefer. My passions have always been dancing and teaching kiddos, which led me to embark on this exciting journey. I have so many dreams for the small community of Slaton and surrounding areas, and I can’t wait to have a place for our kids to express themselves and grow.

I started my dance career at the age of 3, receiving my first scholarship when I was 9 from Tremaine Dance Convention. From there, I continued my training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Pointe from Sully Norris at Mrs. Sully’s Dance Studio in my hometown of Lamesa, TX. I started my Hip-Hop training in high school with Terry Lynn Hunt Lane at Legacy Elite Athletics of Midland, Tx. When I was a Senior in High School, our competitive dance team made it all the way to Worlds in Los Angeles and brought home second place. I went on to receive a scholarship in dance to Howard College and continued my education at Texas Tech University. I have been fortunate enough to be able to continue teaching occasionally at my hometown studio, but now it’s time to bring this engaging sport to Slaton. I am so thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to share my passion with the community.
